Rental Clerk - Automotive

The Automobile Rental Clerk plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service by efficiently managing rental orders and transactions. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle financial transactions accurately. The ideal candidate should have a background in customer service and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in rental management systems and basic accounting practices is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders for vehicle rentals, repairs, and services in person or via telephone.
• Provide detailed information on available rental options and services to customers.
• Calculate rental costs, including taxes and fees, and communicate pricing to customers clearly.
• Accept payment for services rendered and ensure accurate transaction record-keeping.
• Assist customers with the completion of rental agreements and document necessary information.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of rental office and vehicle lot.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues to enhance client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and service quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in customer service, preferably in the automobile rental or hospitality industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers.
• Ability to handle cash transactions and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
• Familiarity with rental management software and point-of-sale systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
